Quondam, along with the lastatak.com
Web Documentary series and the half hour 'Making Of Quondam' documentary will be screening at the 2nd Annual Stafford Film Festival on Thursday 7th October.
'It's a great opportunity,' said writer/director Andrew Davidson recently, 'to be able to have the film and all the documentary work that Ross Lucas did screened again.'
The film and documentaries had previously been screened at the short films successful premiere in March 2004. It was at the premiere that they were offered the spot to present Quondam at the Film Festival.
The relationship between Last ATAK Pictures and the Stafford Film Festival started last year when the production team of Autumn Heart were invited to give a talk based on their experience in student film making, with particular regard to making Autumn Heart.
'What's interesting for me now,' says Davidson 'is going back a year on to present my film work post-student and say to people "This is what I've done with what I've learned" and allow people to see what we've been able to achieve on a very small budget. When we made the Autumn Heart presentation in 2003 we were gearing up to start shooting Quondam, so it's interesting to revisit that a year on as we're gearing up to make our first feature film The Musicals.'
Quondam tells the story of Jack, who has lost all that is dear to him. Now dying, the ghosts and the mistakes he has made haunt him on a journey towards redemption.
'It's a very visual film,' explains Andrew, 'the story relies on what is happening within the frame. People seem to have "got it" which makes me proud as it was a little bit of a gamble and there was a period when I didn't think it was going to come together.'
The screening will take place at Venue F14 in Staffordshire University's Beaconside Campus in Stafford, Staffordshire starting at 7.30pm. The event is open to the public who are being encouraged to attend. Many of the films cast and crew will be in attendance at the event which is followed by Staffordshire University's JVC sponsored awards, which LiMBO was runner-up for in 2002 and Autumn Heart won in 2003.
The festival runs from the 5th-12th October.
