ANIMATED LOGO LAUNCH // 18.02.2004
Last week was Last ATAK Pictures' second birthday, and to celebrate the event a brand new animated logo was commissioned to exemplify the growth of the company over it's two years and the continual pushing of it's own boundaries.

To help launch the new animated logo, we take a brief look back at the two previous animated logos that have been used:

Animated Logo No.1: 'LiMBO'/'The Silent Voice'

This is the earliest animated logo used by Last ATAK Pictures that was created for it's first production 'LiMBO' and later used on 'The Silent Voice'. This is also the original Last ATAK Pictures logo design, created by Michael Buxton. Michael was given a lot of free reign over the design of the logo and finally presented three alternate logos to the production company, the logo you see below is the one they chose. This logo was 'retired' in September 2002 over concerns of copyright and the desire to have a unique logo.

Animated Logo No.2: 'Autumn Heart'

This second animated logo was created in July 2003 by Andrew Davidson and Michael Buxton during the production of the VERY limited edition DVD. Autumn Heart marked the first time that the new logo design, once again created by Michael Buxton, had been used on a Last ATAK Pictures film. This design went through numerous iterations, from being the spaceship on it's own, to the spaceship firing lightning, to the design that has now been seen ever since September 2002. The only alteration that was asked of Michael's design was to make the spaceship more 'cartoon-y' and to keep the stylized black and white of the original. With those alterations in place, the logo was complete. The animated logo came too late to be included during the opening of 'Autumn Heart' itself, but made it's way to starting the DVD.

Animated Logo No.3: 'Quondam'

During the creation of the second animated logo, Andrew Davidson and Michael Buxton had discussed with far-off expressions their desire to have a more animated logo and to actually have the globe explode on screen. At that time it was only a dream, but a happy dream. Though as the company grew the technology became available to actually achieve their goal. The music for the logo was written by Steven Coltart, who wrote the scores for 'Autumn Heart' and 'Quondam'. What you see here is the logo that had always been intended and should last the company for another few years to come.
