Last ATAK Pictures AND NAMELESS PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCE RE-SHOOTS.
One day of re-shoots see Quondam through to completion.
London, UK. - January 29, 2004 - Last ATAK Pictures and Nameless Productions today announced that following on from principle photography in November 2003, one day of re-shoots will take place on Saturday 31st January. The new footage will help develop the themes of the film whilst taking it in a new direction.
'When we cut the film together we saw that it did not flow as strongly as we had hoped,' says Director Andrew Davidson, 'It was too much information too fast. The new footage should allow us to tell the same story but to twist it slightly. It's the same film, we're just coming at it from a different angle.'
The re-shoot does not require the production to return to the hospital location that had been used during principle photography, 'I don't think it's there anymore,' comments the Director, 'If it is it would be very different now as it was due for major renovation the day after we finished filming.' It was felt that the new footage should take place in a different location to distinguish the two stories. 'It would feel like I was repeating myself to go back. This way we are doing something new, but within the context and plot of the film.'
The only actor that is required for the re-shoot is Darren McAree who after an absence from the character Jack requested to view a work-in-progress copy of the film to help him find the character again. His request was denied by the director. 'I want to take the character to a different place with the new scenes. He is recognizable as the same person, but he is very different. It changes the audiences view of the character and of what happens in the film, without taking any of the message out of the work. It's also fun for Darren to play something different this time, so that he isn't repeating himself either. We're injecting new life into everything.'
Work on the score starts on Sunday 1st February and the film is due to be completed in late February.
